It was slow going today altogether.

My sleep is off, but I hope I’ll get it sorted soon. I was awake for a while during the night but fell asleep again and then didn’t wake up until 10:40! I can feel that I slept deeper than I have been.

The box with my clothes and art supplies should be here in a few days. I have fountain pens in it, but couldn’t ship ink in the box or take it on the plane. Searching on Amazon.ie I found Writers Blood ink! Also found travel sable brushes you can’t get in the States from Jackson’s Art Supplies.

In the afternoon, I took a walk along the Quay on a gorgeous day. The Heritage Center is closed till tomorrow. The tide was out completely and coming back in on my way back.

Stopped in the bookstore, Tertulia, on the way back. This shop is below my apartment in the Harbour Mills complex. Niall and Brid (I need to find out how to spell their names correctly.) are lovely and their collection of books and vinyl records really makes you take your time and browse. Plus, the shop is cozy. I bought two books to help me include more nature in scenes in the book. I took The Walker’s Guide with me to dinner. Did you know tides are slow waves in the ocean?

Really enjoying  tea with milk and soda bread I haven’t had in a decade. And I wrote up 10 log posts from the ship’s captain for the website!

I made a huge mistake: I thought I was deleting my old MailChimp account so we could get the account ready to mail you updates. But I deleted all of it, which means the links Carlee put in this Gráinne site for you to sign up for updates won’t work.

I’m lonely, though. Everyone here is on holiday with someone. I’m really noticing it. I have had outreach from my friends and both of my drivers have sent texts. It makes me wonder how Gráinne took care of herself while she was in prison. Twice. I have really nice people around me and I’m meeting more.

A proper dinner tonight with Irish beef, for Cary, my foodie friend:

Cottage Pie, similar to Shepherd’s Pie, but with mouth watering Cheddar topping. It’s common in Ireland to have more than one form of potatoes at a meal. This one is from Charlies at the Towers.

I had a window seat with a beautiful view of the harbor, Clare Island and Croagh Patrick. I did not think to take pictures. I’m a bad captain when it comes to photography.
