Departure is a week away. Jeff and I decided I need a better phone, with more storage and longer lasting battery. I ended up with an iPhone 17. Then, of course, I needed to get the data transferred, and then I needed a new lanyard so I’m not packing a sketchpad, paints, and water bottle into my backpack so I can see this crumbling castle from another angle and not put down my phone in the process.
Like so many experiences I have when working on this project, an answer just comes by. In the Apple store I saw a woman with a crossbody lanyard with a little purse attached and thought that will solve my problem – I won’t lose the phone or my credit card. It’s called a Bandolier, and maybe it will solve problems for you, too. (I keep taking it off; I need to practice keeping it on!)
The next step after this is getting portable chargers and learning how to use them. Next steps after next steps, I needed a slew of more apps. I now have apps for Tap a Taxi to get around, Aer Lingus to have tickets ready, Irish Rail to get across the country, and TFI Live, which I think is public transport schedules (I’m still learning, as I said.) DropBox is now on my phone and iPad. You can see why I need Jeff!
