Today is my last day in Westport. I’ve become attached and my habits are mostly, well habits now. Except for driving – I keep trying to get into the driver’s side of the car when Patricia or Mary pick me up.

One last tour in the mist around the Quay – a sea bird with a long, needlelike beak, and a tiny, shy bird that I couldn’t get a good enough picture to identify it. This day was the first time I saw one like this. This little mound of herb (It looks like chamomile to me.) is beautifying a sign post.

The Creel Deli put out a particularly spectacular bakery display.  I, however, got the apple tart which comes out only as far as the counter because people like me purchase a slice immediately.

Then Mary O’Toole drove me to Castlebar to have dinner with the Rotary Club there. They made me so welcome! They’re great fun and I look forward to seeing them all again at the Conference in Cork.

For Cary, here is the tough choice I made for dinner, roast beef with a popover. And then for dessert, something I had never had, Ferrero Rocher cheesecake. It’s hazelnut and chocolate and even though I was completely stuffed from dinner, I finished this.

My Rotary Club of Cleveland sent art and a pin to exchange with the Castlebar Club as a sign of friendship. They gave me a banner to bring back to Cleveland.

This is James Murray, Rotary Club of Castlebar President and me at the event.
